Design
If nobody uses the tool, it didn't work. We want people who care about the interface and the story around it.

Before you reach out
Do I need to know machine learning to join?
No. Roughly half the work on a project team is scoping, interviewing, analysis and communication. If you're joining as a builder we do expect real programming experience, but “I've used an LLM API” is not a prerequisite for anyone.
What's the time commitment?
Plan on 6–8 hours a week during an engagement: a team working session, a partner check-in, and your own project work. It climbs in the weeks before a deliverable and drops after.
Are you a technical club or a business club?
Both, deliberately. The failure mode of a purely technical club is building something nobody asked for; the failure mode of a purely business one is recommending something nobody can build. We staff teams to avoid both.
Can freshmen and transfer students join?
Yes, and we'd like you to. Founding cohorts skew upperclassman by default and that's a problem for continuity, so year is not a factor in our decisions.
How is this different from other Berkeley consulting clubs?
Focus. Berkeley already has excellent consulting organizations. We're organized around shipping working software for a client — a different semester and a different skill set. We're also brand new, which is worth knowing going in.
